Just before Dr. King's birthday, the teacher read his "I Have a Dream" speech to the class. The students were directed to write or draw their reactions to the speech. Their responses were so good, that the teacher just had to share them with you!
Dr. M.L.K. must have been a really good person. I wish that guy didn't shoot him. I hope he gets very, very spoiled and respected in heaven. I wonder what it would be like if everyone was still racist. I'm glad he changed everything because most of my friends are black. The videos of what it used to be like are scary in a certain way. I don't understand why people used to care about the color of someone's skin when they can be the same inside. For example, two stores can be a different color and still have the same things behind both doors.
He helped black people. He made black people and white people be together. He made people be together and he helped everybody in the world. He made a change in the world. He helped white and black people. Rosa Parks was a great person. She helped black people. She helped slaves. Rosa Parks help black and white people like Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. Martin Luther King made freedom and he made peace in the world. He brought peace to the world and Dr. Martin Luther King saved everybody because he loved everybody and he liked everybody. And Martin Luther King help everyone.
I feel the speech tells you not to fight and to get along. Mr. Martin J.R. tells you white and black must get along together and Mr. Martin J.R. said you can't judge people by their skin color. I feel sad for those people and Mr. Martin J.R. Mr. Martin J.R. said everybody should get freedom. Nobody should be pushed around. Mr. Martin J.R. has a dream.
I feel really good of what Dr. King is doing foor our country. If you don't have something nice to say don't say nothing at all. Don't let your temper get out. Just calm down and everything will be okay. Do not do anything that will get you in trouble. Try to keep your country clean and safe. Stand up for your friends and if they go to jail then so will I. Some day the whole world will join hands and say, We are free at last. Don't ever do something wrong.
I feel that the white and black people want to be free. I feel that the New York people should vote. I feel that black and white any color should be no more slavery. I feel that any state or country should be free and vote. I feel that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream should come true. I feel that black people and white people should stop being mean to each other.
I think that white people and black people to get together and agree for Martin Luther King, Jr. I know when I get out of high school my children are going to be black.
I feel sad for the black person. The white people are planning what they're going to do to the African American people. They are going to get older and white people and black people will get along, join hands together. How come we can get along here but they can't get along there??? I think Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's dream will come true. He was the best person in the United States of America. He should not get arrested because he is trying to help people. I love you Mr. King!
Why can't white people play with black people? Why did Rosa Parks have to move on the bus? Why did Rosa Parks get into jail?
I feel sad for the black people back in the day. I feel that Martin Luther King J.R. was a brave, brave man. I feel like I want to talk to Martin Luther King J.R. I feel Martin Luther King J.R. was very nice to the black people.

I feel that the black people want to be free like the white people. The black people want to stand up for themselves and not let anybody tell them what. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has a dream that he knows will make freedom.
